SAMBA, Mar 20: Non Gazetted Police Pensioners Welfare Forum held a protest at Vijaypur near here, today under the leadership of Ajit Singh.
The protesters demanded that effect of Government Order 229-F of 2014 be given from year 1996, the day from which the Fifth Pay Commission was implemented in the State.
The protesters said the order was implemented for all departments on the same day except the Police Department which is a glaring example of discrimination with police officials.
The protesters said various Pay Anomaly Committees have been formed and they too have given their opinion and approvals from time to time. The first Pay Anomaly Committee formed in October 2009 recommended removal of Pay Anomaly.
The second Pay Anomaly Committee was constituted in September 2011 and the file recommended by it is missing in Civil Secretariat, they added.
The protesters further said that the third Committee was constituted in April, 2016 and till date its recommendations have not come. The Forum members wanted that the report should come at an earliest otherwise it will seem also a time consuming process.
The protesters also demanded release of Rs 5,93,25000 to meet out the Pay Anomalies of ASIs and HCs. Moreover they demanded that when the doctor in Police Hospital goes on leave their should be a substitute for him also to examine the patients as patients have to suffer in absence of the doctors in the hospital.
The promotion of constables be made on vacant posts immediately, they said, adding that in case of delay the officials on verge of retirement will be deprived of promotions.
