KATHUA, Dec 6: Police today seized over 3500 willow clefts from a truck at Lakhanpur.
Police spokesman said that, police intercepted a truck bearing registration number JK14A-8940, which was on its way from Kashmir to Punjab at Lakhanpur Toll Post.
During checking, 3500 willow clefts were recovered, while the driver and the conductor of the truck managed to flee from the spot.
A case under FIR number 97/ 12 under Section 6/15/16 Forest Act, 3 Willow Clefts Act has been registered at Police Station Lakhanpur and manhunt was launched to arrested the absconding driver and conductor, who fled from the spot leaving behind the vehicle.
