Secretariat employees hold protest

JAMMU, Dec 6: The Civil Secretariat Non-Gazetted Employees Union today held a protest demonstration under the leadership of Rauf Ahmad Bhat, to press for its legitimate demands.
The Union appealed the State Government employees in general and of Civil Secretariat in particular, to be ready for the decisive struggle ahead, which is inevitable due to callous attitude of the Government.
The Union members alleged that the authorities are buying time and are busy with tossing the files from one department to another on one pretext or other, instead of redressing their genuine demands, which included removal of pay anomalies of all cadres, enhancement of retirement age from 58 to 60 years, regularization of daily wagers and reorganization.
They further requested the Government to consider their demands to avoid confrontation.
If the Government failed to address their demands upto December 11, the Union would give the call of strike on December 12, 2012, they said, seeking the employees’ support.
