UDHAMPUR, Mar 21: BJP State general secretary, Pawan Khajuria today urged the Government to start the work on much talked about Devika River Conservation Project sanctioned over a year back with the efforts of Union Minister in PMO, Dr Jitendra Singh.
Addressing a meeting of Party’s Udhampur Assembly Segment here, he said that delay in execution of sanctioned projects has become a cause of concern for the people and he assured them that he will take up the issue with concerned quarters and party leadership so that the work on this and other projects is started immediately.
While appreciating the concern shown by the party leaders during the meeting, Khajuria complimented Dr Jitendra Singh for his keen interest in the development of entire Kathua-Doda Lok Sabha Constituency saying that large number of projects were got sanctioned by Union Minister for this Parliamentary Constituency in particular and State in general and it is the duty of State Government to expedite the work on all the Central sponsored projects including Devika.
He said it was with the efforts of Dr Jitendra Singh that a community hall, Radio Station, Passport Office as well as Devika Conservation Project besides road connectivity projects was sanctioned for Udhampur and now the work on these as well as other projects sanctioned for other constituencies be expedited so that the common masses are benefitted by the same.
He said besides, Union Minister the projects funded from the MPLAD fund of RS Member, Shamsher Singh Manhas and CDF of MLC Ashok Khajuria in Udhampur Constituency are under progress. The BJP leader assured the gathering that process is on to resume the work on Tikri Pilot Project which has been stopped earlier.
The members expressed concern over problems being faced by the people and said that the poll promises made with the people have not been fulfilled during last three years of the Government and efforts needed to be made to fill up them at the earliest.
Narinder Kumar, Pawitar Singh, Bharti Sharma, Sham Lal, Ajay, Taj Ali, Naseeb Ram, Milkhi Ram, Parvinder Singh, Sansaro Devi, Anwar Ali and others participated in the meeting.
