JAMMU: Maintaining that Government is well abreast with the problems of the state government employees and workers, the Minister for Animal, Sheep Husbandry and Fisheries Abdul Gani Kohli said that every possible effort is being made to redress their grievances with a positive frame of mind.
The Minister said this while addressing the gathering at 5th State Level Conference being organized by National Trade Union Front (NTUF), here today. He said that removing hardships of its employees and workers is the prime responsibility of the Government adding that mutual trust, goodwill and coordination between employees, workers and the Government was pivotal for running the system smoothly.
Kohli said that present government has always given consideration to the genuine issues raised by the employees and in no case shown rigidity towards redressing them on priority.
“It is our coalition government which considered regularizing around 61000 daily wagers, casual labours, and contingent paid workers etc who were suffering from decades”.
The Minister said that another significant decision of the government is implementation of the recommendations of the 7th Pay Commission to its employees.
Responding to the demands of the workers of various departments, Kohli said Government would consider the problems of Anganwari Workers and Helpers as this issue needs wider consultation with various stake holders in the State as well as with the central Government.
Kohli asked the Trade Unions not to adopt the confrontational approach to seek solution to their problems. Government is open to address all genuine demands of employees and workers in phased manner within the available resources, the Minister added.
He said Government’s approach is very positive and employees should also understand its compulsions.
The Minister sought full cooperation of the Trade Union leaders and employees in addressing their burning issues.
Asking the Trade Union leaders to play healthy role in highlighting the problems of the employees, the Minister said that Government always take their feedback seriously and make sincere efforts to redress their grievances. He asked the leaders to inspire workers to improve work culture at the grass root level and improve delivery of public services.
State President, National Trade Union Front, Mohammad Gafoor Dar also spoke on the occasion and highlighted the demands of Anganwari workers, helpers and other casual labours.
The other leaders of NTUF also spoke on the occasion and sought the government’s intervention in addressing their issues.
