SDM visits border areas, assesses people’s grievances

JAMMU, Dec 6: Sub District Magistrate, R S Pura, S P Rakwal today visited Agra Chak and adjoining villages to take stock of public grievances besides ongoing development works in these border areas.
The SDM interacted with the local farmers and enquired about their problems and demands as well.
He exhorted upon officers of different departments accompanying him, to be punctual and regular in their offices which is imperative for redressal of people’s grievances. He also asked them to redouble their efforts to deliver prompt and timely services to the people.
The SDM alongwith senior officers of different departments conducted surprise inspection of various markets to check the quality of eatables besides keeping a vigil over black marketing and profiteering.
Expressing concern over hazardous effects of the use of polythene bags, the SDM asked the concerned authorities to ensure strict ban on the use of polythene as this not only jeopardizes the health and hygiene but poses a big threat to the future generations.
Taking strong notice of several illegal activities by brick kilns, the SDM cautioned them to restrain from lifting soil from the agricultural land which badly affects the agriculture production in the area. He also strictly instructed the officers not to let the vested interests to indulge in conversion of agriculture land for commercial purposes.
