Addressing a joint press conference here today, Chairman of the Front Sudershan Singh Wazir, said Sikhs will provide Langar and medical facilities to the agitating people of Nowshera, Sunderbani and Kalakote whenever the agitating people march towards Jammu.
Wazir declared an all out support for the genuine demand of a District and Additional Deputy Commissioners of the people of Nowshera, Sunderbani and Kalakote and said that the uprising of the people of these areas for their rights is commendable and praise worthy. He called upon the people of Jammu to extend whole hearted support to this agitation as the State Government seems to be sleeping like ‘Kumbhkarna’.
Wazir assured the people of these areas support of every kind as Mahant Manjeet Singh Ji of Shiromani Dera Nangali Sahib, Poonch, has directed the Sikh community to stand by the genuine demands of anyone and everyone who feels deprived of their rightful and constitutional claims. “As per direction of Mahant Sahib, we have decided to organise Langar and medical facility for the agitating people of these areas whenever they decide to reach Jammu for the protest ,” said Wazir.
SUF chairman warned the Government to accede to the demand of creation of District and appointment of Additional Deputy Commissioners in their respective areas immediately otherwise the people of Jammu will be left with no alternative but to join hands for an ‘Amarnath row’ like agitation. He complimented the people for carrying on this struggle for a long period of 34 days.
Dayal Singh Wazir, president Shiromani Akali Dal, J&K, said that people of Nowshera, Sunderbani and Kalakote have shown an exemplary resolve to continue this agitation for such a long time and the Government seems to be insensitive towards the genuine demands of masses. He castigated the Government and said that this fire of agitation is soon going to engulf the whole Jammu.
Surinder Singh Kala, Chairman Transport Companies Association condemned the attitude of the Government and said that various attempts have been made to weaken the agitation but the brave people of Nowshera, Sunderbani and Kalakote have thwarted all the ill designs of Government agents and have shown a great understanding and resolve among themselves irrespective of colour, caste and creed. DGPC Jammu members also spoke on the occasion.
