Lakhanpur Police rescues 4 bovine animals

KATHUA, Mar 22: Lakhanpur Police today foiled a bovine smuggling bid and rescued four bovine animals which were being smuggled into the State from Punjab.
Police said four bovine animals were rescued by Lakhanpur Police today which were being smuggled in the State. It said acting on a tip off a police team of PS Lakhanpur led by Inspector Kulbir Singh Choudhary, SHO PS Lakhanpur under the direct supervision of Dy. SP DAR, Gorav Mahajan intercepted a Tata Mobile bearing registration No. PB35Q-8230 illegally carrying four bovines. Police seized the vehicle and rescued the animals but the driver of the vehicle managed to escape.
A case FIR No. 23/2018 U/s 188 RPC 3 PCA  Act has been registered at Police Station Lakhanpur and investigation into the matter is in progress to nab the nexus of bovine smuggling.
The drive was carried out under the supervision of Sanjay Parihar Additional SP Kathua and overall supervision of  Mohd. Suleman Choudhary, SSP Kathua.
