Open sale of guns became the main reason for the Florida High School shooting resulting in the death of 17 students recenlty. Within 45 days from March 2018, 17 shoot out cases were registered in America.
This is not in the USA only but in every country in the world today including India where encounters between the police and the goons are seen. Many goons have made it their profession to loot at the gun point because the Government itself allows the citizens to purchase them.
We must analyse what is the need of a gun for a citizen living in civil society ? Whether there is indeed any fear of life from anyone ?
Tribal people living in forests and people residing on the borders may feel the need of such guns for their protection. These people can be allowed to have licensed guns. Otherwise there is no need of guns in the hands of civil society people as it creates a fear among others and race for purchasing such guns increases.
So the Governments in the world in general and in India in particular must end the sale of guns without further delay.
