POONCH, Mar 25: Member Legislative Assembly Mendhar, Javed Rana today called for upgradation of administrative setup in Mendhar with district status.
In a press statement, issued here, MLA said that Mendhar area of Poonch district is a vast area comprising of three tehsils including Mendhar, Balakote, Mankote and several dozens of panchayats.
“Constant cross border shelling, hilly terrains and far off areas led to extra burden on official machinery and one supervisory SDM on three tehsils in such a tough area is not enough ” he said demanding for granting a complete district status to Mendhar.
He said that upgradition of administrative setup leads to better implementation of Government schemes and thus should be taken positively by ruling coalition.
“Previous Government headed by Omar Abdullah sanctioned new administrative units for entire State which are now opening new doors of development and present Government should also follow same footprints ” he further said.
