Jammu Bar comes forward in support of Udhampur Bar Association

UDHAMPUR, Mar 30: As the ongoing agitation  by Bar Association Udhampur members entered into 7th day today, Jammu High Court Bar Association has come forward in their support and announced to observe a token strike tomorrow.
Work at Udhampur court remained suspended while no vehicle of any judicial officer was allowed to enter the court complex.  Even clerks to all the Advocates were also not allowed to appear in any of the court by the Bar Association Udhampur, which has been demanding two halls in the newly built District Court Complex,
Today, president of Jammu Bar Association, B S Slathia along with his team visited Udhampur and took stock of the situation in wake of the ongoing strike.
The Jammu Bar Association team inspected the entire court complex to assess genuineness of the demand and assured full support to the Udhampur Bar Association.
While addressing to the Udhampur Bar Association members,   B S Slathia informed that Administrative Judge, Justice Alok Aradhay will visit District Court Udhampur on Monday to hear the grievances of the Advocates. He assured that if the matter is not resolved, Jammu Bar Association will also come forward in active support of Udhampur Bar Association.
Later in the general house meeting of the Udhampur Bar Association, which was also attended by the visiting team of Jammu Bar Association, it was unanimously decided to go on a hunger strike from tomorrow. Secretary of Jammu Bar Association, Prem Sadotra announced that Jammu High Court Bar Association will observe one day token strike on March 31 in support of the demand of Udhampur Bar Association members.
