Medanta starts another super speciality OPD in Jammu centre

JAMMU, Mar 31: Medanta- The Medicity today started another super speciality OPD in vascular diseases at its Jammu centre.
This was revealed by well-known vascular surgeon and chairman, Peripheral Vascular and Endovascular Sciences at Medanta, Dr Rajiv Parakh, while addressing a press conference here at Press Club.

While speaking on the occasion, Dr Parakh shared new advancements and innovations in vascular surgery for treating diabetic foot and aneurysms. He highlighted the treatment of diabetic foot and aneurysms using innovative technology.
Dr Parakh said, ‘’Vascular surgery can be performed as a technique for removing plaque build- up inside a blocked artery. It can be used for treating conditions which are caused due to the stoppage of blood into any part of the body except the heart”.
He also shared knowledge on new technologies and innovations in vascular surgery for treatment of varicose veins (enlarged, swollen twisting veins) by laser technology, modalities for treating blood clots by dissolving them and non-invasive treatment for dilated arteries using stents.
Dr Parakh is a leading vascular surgeon with over 40 years of experience in Endovascular Surgery, Carotid Surgery and Vascular Trauma. He has pursued his medical education from Maulana Azad Medical College, Delhi followed by Royal College of Surgeons, United Kingdom and is a recipient of several prestigious awards.
His major expertise is endovascular management of peripheral vascular disease, thoracic & aortic aneurysms, peripheral endovascular and surgical procedures for limb salvage, carotid endarterectomy for stroke prevention, endovenous thermal ablation of varicose veins (laser & RFA), management of venous thrombo-embolism and newer anti-thrombotic drugs.
