JAMMU, Mar 31: To take the stock of the problems and facilities provided to the Kashmiri migrants putting up in various camps at Jammu, Minister of State for Revenue and Relief, Ajay Nanda along with BJP MLC, Ajay Bharti, Relief and Rehabilitation Commissioner, M L Raina and president, BJP Displaced District, Chand Ji Bhat today visited Jagti township, Nagrota, Purkhoo, Buta Nagar and Muthi camps.
MLC Surinder Ambardar also accompanied the Minister during his visit to Buta Nagar and Muthi camps.
The Minister during his visit to Jagti hospital was informed that there is shortage of medicines in the Hospital and doctors posted there are without salaries for last five months. The Minister was also informed that the Jagti Hospital is not only looking after the migrant patients but the patients upto Tikri in Udhampur are utilizing the services of Jagti Hospital.
The TRT Nagrota inmates highlighted the demand of permanent settlement in Kashmir valley at the earliest.
The migrants at Purkhoo Camp informed the Minister that they face severe power cuts as power remains off for 14 hours in a day. The Minister assured them that he will take up this issue with Deputy Chief Minister, Dr Nirmal Singh.
At Lower Purkhoo Camp the migrants demanded that they should be given preference in the allotment of rooms in the proposed 900 flats being constructed for migrants. The migrants of Muthi Camp demanded establishment of a play ground in the camp for which the land is also available there.
The camp inmates of Buta Nagar were informed by Chand Ji Bhat that their demands will be taken up with the concerned Ministry by his organisation soon.
DC Relief Sidha, BJP, KDD general secretary B L Razdan and Booth president Sanjay Bhat also accompanied the team.
