Four women sit on fast unto death at Koota

KATHUA, Mar 31: Reiterating their demand for CBI probe into the murder and kidnapping of a Gujjar girl whose dead body was found in jungles of Rassana on January 17 this year, four women two from Rassana village, one each from adjoining villages of Damyal and Satura sat on fast unto death at Koota Morh in Hiranagar tehsil today.
Supporting them the activists of the Hindu Ekta Manch (HEM) including women of the Rassana and other villages also staged a dharna demanding handing over of the case to CBI to ascertain the facts about the murder and kidnapping of the girl and punishment to real culprits instead of harassing the innocent villagers.
The protestors also raised slogans in support of their demand and warned to take the struggle to its logical conclusion.
The protestors alleged that the innocent people including the students are being unnecessarily harassed by the police and a total anarchy prevails in the area which will not be tolerated.  The police has let lose a reign of terror and this can’t be allowed as 50 youth of the area are being targeted by the Crime Branch of Police said one of the protestors.
Those who sat on fast unto death today included Trishla Devi, W/o Ashok Kumar and Anjana Sharma W/o Dharam Paul both residents of Rassana, Darshana Devi W/o Updesh Kumar of Dhamyal and Sushma Devi, W/o Surinder Verma of Satura.
