CS&IT candidates demand counseling

SRINAGAR, Mar 31: Despite applying for the vacant posts of contractual lecturers, candidates of computer science and information technology have not been called for counseling.
Several candidates of computer sciences and information technology who applied for the post of contractual lecturers/ teaching assistants in Government Degree Colleges alleged that they are not being called for the counseling.
“On the basis of advertisement notice issued by the Higher Education Department, we applied for the vacant posts of contractual lecturers. Our applications were received by the nodal agency along with prescribed fees and affidavit duly attested by First Class Magistrate. The merit list for counseling of all candidates is available on the website of Amar Singh College. But to our utter surprise, we are not being called for the counseling,” a candidate of computer science said.
The candidates requested that the matter be solved and justice be done with dozens of candidates who are awaiting status of their applications. They said that the counseling for all other disciplines has been conducted except IT.
