Pilgrims’ convenience tops Govt’s agenda: Bhalla

JAMMU, Dec 7: Minister for Revenue, Relief and Rehabilitation, Raman Bhalla, has said that the Government was making concerted efforts to tap the  huge  tourist potential,  especially the  pilgrimage tourism, in the State by creating necessary infrastructure.
“These endeavors of the Government are not only adding to the State’s economy but tremendously helping employment generation for the youth”, he added.
This was stated by the Minister while addressing a large gathering of devotees at Shri Bharav Nath ji temple during a function held at Dounthly Bazaar in Panjthirthi, here today.
Paying obeisance at the temple, the Minister prayed for peace, progress and prosperity in the State.
The Minister said Government is working hard to develop all the tourists and historical places with all basic facilities so that the visitors could enjoy the spots without any inconvenience.
Bhalla said development of famous Shri Bawe Wali Mata, Shri Peer Kho temple, Shri Ranbireshwar, Shri Raghunath Ji, Shri Balram, Shri Laxmi, Shri Bharav Nath and Shri Gajadhar shrines and several other places are the major projects in this direction. He hoped that these would become a source of attraction for the devotees and help in diverting the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi ji, Shri Budha Amarnath Ji and Shri Amar Nath pilgrims to other parts of State having tremendous tourism potential.
The Minister said that several innovative steps are being implemented to further streamline transport facilities in the State.
Spelling out measures being initiated by the Government to boost pilgrim tourism, Bhalla said the State is being developed in all respects to showcase it as a major attraction for the devotees and tourists.
