NEW DELHI, Apr 2:
The Human Resource Development (HRD) Ministry today said there was no proposal to set up a full-fledged university for disabled people in the country.
Minister of State for HRD Satypal Singh informed Lok Sabha in written response to a question that “at present the government is not considering any proposal to set up a full-fledged university for disabled persons in the country”.
According to the 2011 Census, Singh said, about 2.68 crore people are disabled, accounting for 2.21 per cent of the country’s population. (PTI)
