Man severely burnt in fire, dies

JAMMU, Apr 2: A migrant labourer was severely injured in a fire mishap in Gangyal area and later died in a hospital.
“A man identified as Banarsi (46) son of Ram Naresh, resident of Jharkhand (at present Gangyal) was sleeping at his temporary residence in Gangyal area in inebriated condition when a fire broke probably due to fall of any cloth on the burning electric cooking heater near his bed around 11.30 last night”, a police official said.
He said that as the man was inebriated condition, he could not save himself and was burnt completely in the fire till he was saved by the others. “The severely injured man was shifted to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu, where he died today around 3.30 AM”, the official added.
“Today, after completing all medico-legal formalities, the body of the deceased was handed over to his legal heirs for last rites”, the official further said, adding, Gangyal police has registered a case in this connection and started investigations.
