No selection benefits to appointees in KVIB: HC

SRINAGAR, Apr 2: High Court today directed that the recent appointees in Khadi Village Industries Board (KVIB) shall not be given benefit for selection and appointment till next date of hearing.
Justice Ali Mohammad Magrey directed that appointees including Aroot Madani, cousin of Chief Minister, shall not be given benefit arising out of the selection/appointment till next date before the Bench.
Court, meantime, sought reply to the petition from the officials of (KVIB) Board by or before next date. Court asked the State Counsel B A Dar, (Sr. AAG) to apprise the Principal Secretary to Government, Home Department, about the orders passed by this Court today, so as to enable him to submit the compliance.
On behalf of appointees, whose selection and appointment for the post of Executive Officer in the Board has been challenged, no one was present before the Court.
Petitioner-Tamseel Hussain Khan has approached the Court by way of writ petition challenging therein the selection and appointment of the private respondents against the post of Executive Officer issued vide notification No. KVIB/ Adm/ Misc-655/ 7252 dated 20.02.2018 under the open merit category, on varied grounds with particular reference that the selection process was initiated by violating all the norms and laws on the subject.
It is further submitted that the official respondents of the board have made selection without following the law. Petitioner’s father has further submitted that noticing hue and cry raised by the aggrieved candidates; the Government has constituted a High Level Committee for conducting enquiry in the matter.
Court has been informed that the High Level Committed is headed by R. K. Goel, Principal Secretary to Government Home Department, which has been constituted for conducting the enquiry.
“The Committee shall collect the selection records from the office of the respondent- Khadi and Village Industries Board and on the basis of examination of the records, Committee to expedite their enquiry within
one month. The respondents are directed to supply photocopies of the selection records before this Court”, court added in today’s order.
