Bar to suspend work in all courts for 4 days

JAMMU, Apr 3: J&K High Court Bar Association Jammu today decided to suspend work in all the courts from April 4 to April 7 in protest against illegal directions of Tribal Affairs Department, delay in handing over Rasana murder case to CBI, deportation of illegally settled  immigrants and  in support of demand of Nowshera, Sunderbani and Kalakote people.
The decision was taken in the General House meeting of the Bar Association held under the Presidentship of Senior Advocate B S Slathia in the Conference Hall of District Court Complex.
All the speakers while addressing the house were vociferous against the sinister designs of the Coalition Government which has deliberately created a hostile situation in an attempt to create wedge and disturb the harmonious atmosphere and character of the Jammu region.
They further expressed their strong resentment about handling of the sensitive issues by the ruling party and rather smelt a foul play in manufacturing all these issues to the disadvantage of the common masses as all these have same orientation to make the Jammu suffer on one pretext or the other.
The General House passed a resolution regarding non seriousness on part of the ruling coalition in resolving sensitive issues. The Bar Association further resolved to hold meeting with the Jammu Civil Society including Presidents of different organizations in Jammu region on April 7 in the High Court Bar Office for mobilizing the public opinion  in order to strategies the further course of action on the issues.
Further, it was resolved to appeal to the Acting Chief Justice and the Administrative Judge to immediately intervene and address the grievance of the District Bar Association, Udhampur at the earliest as the demand made by the Association is genuine.
It was also decided that work in all the courts including High Court will be suspended from April 4 to 7 in protest against these issues.
