Sir,
Refer news item “Dalit bandh: violence leaves 9 killed” DE April 3, 2018.
India is pluralistic country where people of almost every faith lives under a robust constitution. Being a democratic set up, every aggrieved section of society has a right to highlight the issue they confront in day to day lives. They can do so by every peaceful means, but not through violence. But over the years, it has been observed that the agitators often take recourse to violence to get their grievances addressed.
Whether it was Padmavat row, Dera Ram Rahim episode and now Bharat Bandh. The people have resorted to violence damaging public property worth crores and causing inconvenience to public. Is this way the Rising India can tackle issues of great importance. When all peaceful means fail to achieve the objectives, resorting to violence can be justified to some extent.
It is very digusting that political leaders to achieve their objectives often lend their tacit support to violence. If this ugly trend continued in the future as well, it will not augur well the nation.
Yours etc…
