Adhoc employee’s blind murder case solved, 2 arrested

JAMMU, Apr 4: Gandhi Nagar police solved a blind murder case of an adhoc employee of Floriculture Department with the arrest of two persons.
As per police sources, a person identified as Harbans Lal, son of Kirpa Ram, a resident of Banota RS Pura was admitted in Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) Jammu on July 20, 2015 in injured condition from Gole Market Gandhi Nagar.
The victim succumbed to his injuries during treatment and PCR Jammu forwarded the information regarding the death of the man to Gandhi Nagar Police Station on July 22, 2015.
As the man, who was working as an adhoc employee with the Floriculture Department and was posted as night watchman at Gole Market Park Gandhi Nagar, died under mysterious circumstances, inquest proceedings under Section 174 CrPC was initiated by the Gandhi Nagar Police.
During the course of enquiry, police recorded the statement of deceased person’s son, who disclosed that after parking scooty, two unknown persons entered into the park, asked his father for matchbox and when his father refused, they attacked his father with fists, blows and stick. The unknown persons later escaped from the spot, deceased person’s son added.
After the postmortem and medical opinions of the board of doctors, which confirmed that the deceased died due to the injuries on his head and ribs fracture, a case under FIR Number 75/18 under Section 302, 452 and 34 RPC was registered at Police Station Gandhi Nagar and hunt was launched to nab the accused.
On specific information, a team from Gandhi Nagar Police Station detained two persons, who during questioning, broke down and confessed to commit the crime.
Police arrested both the accused, who have been identified as Ajay Kumar, son of Chano Ram and Noni Dass, son of Joginder Pal, both residents of Mazdoor Basti, Reshamgarh Colony, Jammu. On their disclosure, the scooty involved in the crime was also recovered and seized accordingly.
Police team led by SHO Gandhi Nagar Inspector Sunil Singh Jasrotia and SI Kali Charan solved the blind murder case under the supervision of SDPO South Mohammad Rafiq Manhas, SP South Sandeep Choudhary and SSP Jammu Vivek Gupta.
