JAMMU, Apr 5: Terming the PDP-BJP Government policies as anti- people, former Minister and senior Congress leader Raman Bhalla today said that the promises made by the PDP-BJP Government with the people were left on papers only and the people were suffering because of unholy bonhomie between the two coalition partners.
While interacting with the people of Karan Bagh and Gadigarh in Gandhi Nagar constituency today, Bhalla said that the people not only in Jammu, but in entire State are suffering on account of price hike, non- availability of ration, drinking water, roads etc. He added that the remote areas are suffering on account of delivery system. He alleged that several welfare initiatives taken by the previous Congress Government have been left abandon.
“Due to anti- people policies, both BJP and PDP are facing rebellion within the party ranks and as a result of which many people associated with these parties are regularly stepping a part from them and joining Congress in huge number,” he claimed.
Bhalla said people of State can no longer be befooled and hood-winked by self-created controversies in order to address their respective constituencies putting the State into a situation of un-certainty. “The agenda of alliance was nothing but only a piece of paper to deceive the people by way of surrendering of their poll promises made to the people especially to their respective electorate whom they emotionally exploited on their respective agenda to win the elections by giving unachievable slogans,” he added.
Reminding the BJP-PDP coalition of the assurances doled out by it during the Budget Session for early holding of ULB elections, Bhalla regretted the inexplicable delay and repeated postponements of the same despite the State elections authorities having indicated their preparedness on scores of occasions. He alleged that Government of India has totally failed on its Kashmir policy.
