JAMMU, Apr 7: In its drive against the menace of beggars, Lakhanpur police today removed nearly 50 beggars from the gateway to Jammu and Kashmir and warned them not to again resort to begging in the area.
Police also removed encroachments in Lakhanpur during the drive to overcome traffic congestions.
During the drive, police also inspected various shops and eatable points at Lakhanpur and advised the shopkeepers to maintain hygienic conditions.
The Chemists were advised to sell medicines only on prescriptions.
The drive was supervised by DySP DAR Kathua, Incharge Lakhanpur, Gourav Mahajan and SHO Lakhanpur Inspector Kulbir Choudhary.
