UDHAMPUR, Apr 10: Aggrieved over no supply of drinking water for the last several days, locals of village Sambal, Chakhar and Sui held a protest against Public Health Engineering Department (PHE), here today.
The protesting villagers raised slogans against the PHE Department and threatened to gherao the PHE Station if water supply to these villages is not immediately restored.
They alleged that there was no regular supply of drinking water to their area with the result that the villagers are forced to drink muddy water from natural sources. Due to this situation, small kids and elderly village have been caught infected with intestinal problem, they added and warned that if water supply is not made regular, they would take direct action..
The protesting villagers were also addressed by Uttar Singh, Ram Lal Sharma, Makhnu Devi, Badri, Kuldeep Kumar, Vijay Kumar, Neelam Devi, Chuni Lal, Sunil Kumar and Yashpaul.
