SRINAGAR, Apr 12: Vigilance Organization Kashmir registered a case against officials of PHE Division Handwara for committing gross financial irregularities.
While perusing the special audit and inspection report of PHE Division Handwara, it came to light that the officers/officials of said division under a well knit conspiracy have committed gross financial irregularities by making various payments at exorbitant rates and also violating codal formalities, thereby causing a huge loss to the State exchequer.
It has further come to light during the perusal of the special audit and inspection report that huge losses have been caused by executing the works illegally/fraudulently and in gross violation of rules/procedures. Also losses have been caused while making purchases of articles required for the execution of different works.
Accordingly a case FIR No. 13/2018 U/S 5(2) J&K Prevention of Corruption Act, read with section 120-B, RPC was registered against PHE Division Handwara in Police Station VOK and the Investigation of the case has been taken up.
