KISHTWAR, Apr 16: Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Abrar Chowdhary today inaugurated self employment and skill development centre here in which the first batch of 40 girls and ladies were enrolled for undergoing vocational and skill development training in cutting and tailoring.
The programme has been started by Softech Institute of IT Kishtwar and is being sponsored by District Police Kishtwar.
Beside inauguration and inspections, the SSP Kishtwar handed over high end sewing machines and other accessories to the female trainees in presence of the management of the institute and the police officers.
The various trainees comprising girls and women enrolled for skill development training belong to Kishtwar town and its outskirts including Chatroo, Padder, Trigham, etc.
He inspected the centre and briefed the trainees on the importance of skill development and self employment to address the issues of growing unemployment.
Among others present were Shahid Hussain Chairman Softech Charitable Trust, Tara Chand President, Tousif Ahmed Vice President Trust, Asiya Tabbasum, Raja Singh and Babli Instructors in Skill Development, Parbeet Singh Additional SP Kishtwar, Inspector Sameer Jellani SHO Police Station Kishtwar and Asgar Ali alias Bitta Sheikh District Secretary Red Cross Kishtwar.
