Excelsior Correspondent KATHUA, Dec 10: The police arrested a tractor trolley driver for the death of a villager in accident. The accused has been identified as Mangal Singh, resident of village Mukay in Kidian Gandyal area of Punjab. A case under Section 174 CrPC had been registered by the Lakhanpur Police in this connection after one Sukhwinder Singh, son of Balbir Singh of Mukay village had gone to Ravi river to collect sand on the tractor on November 26. Sukhwinder’s body was recovered under mysterious circumstances from the river side. Tractor trolley driver expressed ignorance over the matter and told the family and the police that Sukhwinder had not accompanied him. During investigation the police came to know that Sukhwinder was killed due to fall from the same tractor trolley and driver abandoned the body and escaped. The police now converted 174 CrPC into 304-A RPC and arrested the accused today. He has confessed that deceased died in accident.
