JAMMU, Apr 17: All J&K State Power Development Corporation (PDC) Daily Wagers’ Union today held a protest and gherao the office of Managing Director (MD) of the Corporation, located at Ashok Nagar, Satwari in Jammu.

A large number of daily wagers/employees from different power houses of the State Power Development Corporation participated in the protest demonstration and raised slogans against the administration of the Corporation for playing dilly-dally tactics with them on the issue of formal orders of their regularization.
The protesting employees said that they have utilized their golden years while serving in the Corporation at their risk and cost and even without availability of any property safety equipments, for the sake of the Corporation as well as larger interest of the general public.
They said that Finance Department has already approved their regularization as per SRO 381 vice their No: UO A/141 (94) III-89 dated 13/11/2017 and 5th meeting of Management & Finance Sub-Committee of JKSPDC has already approved the same in terms of SRO 381 but still the formal orders in this connection is yet to be issued.
“Recently, we were assured that our regularization orders will be issued one the Board of Directors’ meeting gets conducted but no such meeting has been held so far, thereby delaying regularization process,” the protesting employees said and warned to hamper all the projects if their regularization orders are not issued soon.
