JAMMU, Apr 17: RS Pura police under ‘Operation Sanjeevani’ arrested a notorious drug peddler and recovered poppy straw from their possession.
As per police sources, on reliable information, a team from RS Pura Police Station laid a naka near Tanda road and intercepted a person.
During checking, police recovered 2.250 kilograms of poppy straw from the possession of the person and arrested him.
The arrested person has been identified as Raj Kumar alias Soni, son of Sohan Lal, a resident of Kotli Shah Doula. The accused was a notorious drug peddler and was involved in 5 more cases.
A fresh case under FIR Number 47/18 under Section 8/15 Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act has been registered at RS Pura Police Station against him and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO RS Pura Inspector Bishnesh Kumar made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO RS Pura Sourabh Prasher and SP Headquarters Jammu RC Kotwal.
