DODA, Apr 17: Two teenagers were killed, when the motorcycle they were riding on collided with a tempo traveler near Prem Nagar area, here today.
As per police sources, two youth died on the spot, when their motorcycle bearing registration number PB09Q-4865 they were riding on collided head on with a tempo traveler bearing registration number JK17-4895 near Prem Nagar area, falling under the jurisdiction of Thathri Police Station.
After getting information, police team rushed to the spot and shifted the bodies to Trauma Hospital at Thathri, where after conducting autopsy, the bodies were handed over to family members for last rites.
The deceased have been identified as Mohd Ashan (19), son of Abdul Latief and Mohammad Irfan (18), son of Mushtaq Ahmed, both residents of Bisran, Bhalessa district Doda.
According to preliminary reports from the spot, it seems that due to heavy rain and slippery condition of the road, the young biker could not control the bike and collided with a tempo traveler coming from the opposite side
The tempo traveler driver identified as Mudassar Ahmed Zargar, son of Bashir Ahmed Zargar, a resident of Khori Saroor, district Kishtwar, who escaped from the spot was arrested later by the police from a hideout.
A case under FIR number 26/18 under Sections 279, 337 and 304-A RPC has been registered at Thathri Police Station and investigation started.
