BLSKS presents 205th musical play ‘Sadi Dharti’

JAMMU, Apr 21: To observe the “World Earth Day” &  to promote the traditional culture of J&K, Bhartiya Lok Sangeet Kala Sansthan (BLSKS) staged its 205th Saturday Series musical play ‘Sadi Dharti’ in collaboration with Sangam Tru Art Production at Durga Bhawan, Janipur, here today.
The programme was inaugurated by the chief guest Dr AC Bhagat, former Chief Officer Department of  Animal Husbandry, while VK Magotra, former Regional Director, Directorate of Field Publicity, Government of India, RP Amla, event Director and Dr Anju Dogra were the guests of  honour.
The musical play ‘Sadi Dharti’ has been written, produced and directed by ML Dogra (Chairman, BLSKS).
Dogra said that the April 22 Earth Day, founded by Senator Gaylord Nelson was first organized in 1970 to promote ecology and respect for life on the planet as well as to encourage awareness of the growing problems of air, water, and soil pollution.  The artists presented songs which included ‘Pyari Ganga Hai Sadi  Asi Dharti De Lal’, ‘Dharti Humari Asi  Dharti De Lala’, ‘Banjar Dharti Sona Ugle’, ‘Baiman Lok Kase Diya Mar De’ and ‘Kya Pier Kahun Apne Mann Ki’.
The music of the songs was assisted by Raju Bajgal, Music Instructor, under the direction of Usha Handoo.
MC Kotwal, General Secretary BLSKS in his welcome address threw light on the aims & objectives of the programme.
The singers, musicians, actors and the students of music and computer institute who performed in the play were  Rajni Gupta,  Raju Bajgal, Dhruv Pandit, Rakshit, Ujwal,  Sakshi, Sumeeta Bhat, Darshan  Rajwal, Bindiya, Mathali, Materi, Kuldeep Raj, Bodh Raj, Deevam Jandiyal, Vansh Raina, Megha Raina and Bhumika Chib.
