JAMMU, Apr 22: Police foiled murder plot with the arrest of two criminals along with country made pistol and live cartridge.
As per police sources, a joint team from Janipur, Bus Stand and Bakshi Nagar Police Stations laid a naka near Paloura and intercepted two persons, who were moving under suspicious circumstances.
During checking, police recovered one country made pistol and live cartridge and arrested them.
The arrested persons have been identified as Babber Khan, son of Ghulam Khan of Talab Tillo and Riyaz Ahmed, son of Haji Sarver of Gujjar Nagar.
During questioning, it came to fore that duo were on their way to eliminate their rival, but with timely action, police foiled their bid.
It also came to light that the accused are also involved in cases registered under FIR Number 95/2017 under Section 364/34 RPC with Police Station Bus Stand and FIR Number 67/16 under Section 307 RPC with Police Station Nowabad.
A fresh case under FIR Number 36/18 under relevant Sections of law has been registered at Police Station Janipur and investigation started.
Police teams led by SHO Janipur SI Bimal Indu, SHO Bus Stand Inspector Rajesh Jasrotia and SHO Bakshi Nagar Inspector Naresh Sharma foiled the murder plot under the supervision of DySP Headquarters Mansha Beig, SP City Dr Vinod Kumar and SSP Jammu Vivek Gupta.
