ReT Forum holds protests across State for SSA salary, transfer policy

JAMMU, Apr 25: Up in arms against alleged casual approach of the Government to resolve the burning issue of SSA salary, J&K ReT Teachers’ Forum today held day long protests at all the district headquarters of the State.
Main protest was held at Udhampur where hundreds of ReTs led by State president Vinod Sharma, State chief coordinator Sukhdev Singh Sumbria and district president Lekh Raj Parihar gathered at Mini Stadium.
While speaking on the occasion, Vinod Sharma accused the Government of its failure to heal the miseries of SSA teachers who are without salary for the last 3 months. “Callous attitude of the Government has forced us to come on roads by leaving our schools,” he said adding that despite announcement on the floor of the House, transfer policy has also not been implemented by the Government thereby forcing the ReTs to come on roads.
Later the protesters in the form of rally moved towards DC office where a memorandum of demands was submitted to the Government through DDC.
The protest at Jammu was led by provincial president Rajesh Jamwal, Provincial senior vice president Surjit Singh and district president Subash Chander at Press Club. They raised slogans in support of their demands like immediate release of SSA salaries and delinking of the same by absorbing SSA posts under State plan.
At Poonch, State senior vice chairman Najam Jafri and district president Shahnwaz Hussain led the protest demonstration of a huge gathering. Najam Jafri sought the intervention of the Chief Minister to resolve the issue of SSA salary forever.
The protest at Ramban was led by State vice president Gulzabir Daing, senior members Hari Lal Naag and Surjit Singh .
At Doda, the protest was led by district president Sajad Malik and joint secretary Hamiet Wani while at Rajouri, State chief spokesman Naresh Sharma and District president Manzoor Khan led the protest demonstration
The protest demonstration at Kishtwar, Samba, Reasi and Kathua were led by Tahir Masood, Raj Kumar Dubey and Dinesh Singh, Balwan Singh and Arvind Sharma, respectively.
Similar protests were held across the Kashmir division.
