Leadership Development Program of MBA (IB) students organized by ICccR & HRM

JAMMU, Apr 25: Internat-ional Centre for Cross Cultural Research and Human Resource Management (ICccR & HRM), University of Jammu, organized a seven day Education-cum-Leadership Development Program with Himalayan Vagabond Adventures at Manali, Himachal Pradesh for MBA (IB), Semester IV students.
The programme was aimed at providing every student with an in-depth understanding of their strengths and areas of improvement so as to develop them into effective leaders. During the training program, the students were introduced to the ideas of leadership, derailment, personality, teambuilding and the programme was designed such that it has a mix of training methods: entrepreneurial teaching, high fidelity business simulations, one-to-one coaching sessions and survival trainings.
The contents of Leadership Development Program were inclusive of acclimatization walks, local culture sensitization trainings, interaction with local entrepreneurs, outdoor education sessions, in-house adventure activities (Burma Bridge Sloth Walk & Bamboo Bridge) and team building exercises. The students also underwent one-to-one discussions with local entrepreneurs in order to gain awareness of the knowledge, skills, and attributes necessary to become effective entrepreneurs across diverse setups.
The trainings were followed by leadership development exercises that helped students to outline the qualities and skills of each leadership position in the organization and the key proficiencies needed for mastering leadership situations.
The activities targeted for the introspection included expeditions to Rhododendron forest across series of alpine meadows to Mozak and Dhauladhar Range and peaks like Hanuma Tibba, Makkar Bay, Shikhar Bay and Patalsu Peak. The students were trained by team of professionals from Himalayan Vagabonds under the mentorship of MD Negi, Managing Director, Himalayan Vagabonds, Manali-Himachal Pradesh, a social psychologist and an expert in experiential leadership trainings (academic as well as corporate), seasoned traveller and trekker.
Professor Deepak Raj Gupta, Director, ICccR & HRM, highlighted the significance of Leadership Development Program, and stressed that it is a pathway to offer students, the budding leaders the opportunity to develop the skills they need to move up within organization and grow in their careers ahead.
