KATHUA, Dec 12: One person was killed while at least ten others injured in separate road accidents in district Kathua and Samba today.
A police spokesman said that one Saroj Kumar (22), son of Shagan Ram, resident of Chhapra in Bihar, at present Kathua, was seriously injured after his bike was hit with a stationary truck on Railway Road here today. The youth with serious head injuries was rushed to Kathua hospital where doctors declared him as dead. The police registered a case in this connection.
Meanwhile, two persons were injured after their bike was hit by private college bus at Parnala in Billawar this afternoon. Identified as Parveen Kumar, son of Ludhar Ram of Dambra and Arjun, son of Bishan Dass of Banode, both the victims were removed to Billawar hospital. Parveen was further referred to GMC Hospital, Jammu. The police has taken cognizance of the matter. Bus driver was absconding.
At least eight persons were injured after a truck ( RJ07G/4978) collided with a mini-bus (JK02AB/2445) on National Highway near Bari Brahmana today. The mishap took place when the mini-bus driver suddenly applied brakes to pick up passengers and the truck following the vehicle, rammed into the front vehicle. The injured were removed to hospital in Jammu. The police has registered a case.
