JAMMU, Apr 30: Jammu Division Selection Chess events concluded at Nek Hotel, below Gummat here today.
In Under-9 boys category, Anand Abrol won the event while 2nd position went to Saksham sabharwal and third position was bagged by Devansh Mahajan.
In Under-11, Pranav Abrol and Anand Abrol were declared Joint winners while Saksham Sabharwal got the third place.
In Under-13 category, Pranav Abrol won the first place while second position went to Ayush Gupta and third position was claimed by Dewang Gupta.
In Under-15, Soham Kamotra won the first place while second place went to Pranav Abrol and the third place was bagged by Ayush Gupta.
In Under-17, Sanyam Gupta won the first place while Superb Jain and Harshit got second and third place respectively.
In Under-19, Soham Kamotra got first place while Sanyam Gupta and Aryan got second and third place respectively.
In Senior men’s category, Sumit Grover got first place followed by Soham Kamotra and Sanyam Gupta.
All the events were conducted by FIDE Arbiter Anil Kotwal under FIDE Laws of Chess, while Ravi Singh, Divisional Sports Officer (J), J&K Sports Council was the observer.
All the matches were conducted under the supervision of Atul Kumar Gupta, president All J&K Chess Association.
Baldev Raj, Vice President of the Association and Dr AS Bhatia Advisor AJKCA were also present on the occasion.
Selected players will represent J&K State in forthcoming Nationals alongwith selected players from Kashmir division.
