JAMMU, May 1: Member Legislative Council (MLC), Ch. Vikram Randhawa, today dedicated newly constructed lane and drain to the public at Ward No 1, Simbal camp in Panchayat Tinda Kalan under Miran Sahib Block.
While addressing the villagers after inaugurating the lane and drain, Randhawa said that it was the long pending demand of the people and they were facing many hardships, particularly during rainy season, in the absence of lane and drain. He said that a deputation from Ward No-1, Simbal Camp visited his office and apprised him about the problem.
Randhawa said that as it was the long and genuine demand of the public an amount of Rs 2.5 lakh was released from his Constituency Development Fund (CDF) following which the lane and drain now stands completed.
He urged upon the villagers to keep the lane and drain clean as it is now their property. Randhawa said that by keeping the drain clean we can keep mosquitoes away which spread many epidemics during rainy season like malaria and dengue and this way can enhance the lifespan of the lane and drain. He said it is the duty of all of us to save the public properties from any damage.
Randhawa also appreciated the quality of the work done. He complimented the officials of the Block Development Office who ensured that quality will be maintained while carrying out construction of the lane and drain.
The prominent villagers present on the occasion include S. Santokh Singh, Sarpanch Raja Singh, Pradhan Amrik Singh, Jaswant Singh, Amrik Singh Sudan, Ranjit Singh Sudan, Sukhdev Singh and others.
