NEW DELHI, May 2: Guar gum prices went up by Rs 68 to Rs 8,465 per quintal as participants increased their exposure amid a firm trend at the physical markets on the back of export demand.
Marketmen attributed the rise in guar gum prices to widening of positions by the traders largley in sync with a firm trend at the spot markets on pick up in export demand amid thin supplies of guar seed from growing regions.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, guar gum for delivery in May improved by Rs 68 or 0.81 per cent to Rs 8,465 per quintal, having an open interest of 32,700 lots.
Also, the most-traded delivery in June contracts rose by Rs 61 or 0.72 per cent to Rs 8,574 per quintal, clocking an open interest of 33,080 lots. (PTI)
