NEW DELHI, May 3: Guar seed prices spurted by Rs 30 to Rs 3,882 per quintal in futures trade as participants accumulated fresh positions amid a firm trend at the spot markets.
Market players said a firm trend at the physical markets on the back of acceleration in demand from gum makers amid thin supplies, mainly influenced guar seed futures prices.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, guar seed to be delivered in June looked up by Rs 30 or 0.78 per cent to Rs 3,882 per quintal, clocking an open interest of 67,730 lots.
The rates for most active, delivery in May was at Rs 24 or 0.63 per cent to Rs 3,828 per quintal, with an open interest of 81,810 lots. (PTI)
