NEW DELHI, May 3: Castor seed prices recovered by Rs 12 to Rs 4,050 per quintal in futures trade today after participants covered up their short positions at prevailing lower levels amid a firm trend at the physical markets.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, castor seed for delivery in June increased by Rs 12, or 0.30 per cent to Rs 4,050 per quintal, having a business turnover of 57,060 open lots.
In a similar way, castor seed to be delivered in May looked up by Rs 9 or 0.23 per cent to Rs 3,994 per quintal, in an open interest of 47,870 lots.
The rise in castor seed prices at futures trade was mostly attributed to covering-up of positions by speculators and a firm trend at the spot markets. (PTI)
