SRINAGAR, Dec 13: All India Radio is for the first time reaching out to the far flung areas of Kashmir valley near the Line of Control for the talent hunt by organizing Pahari Youth Mela in North Kashmir’ s Tangdar area on Sunday.
The Producer Pahari Programme All India Radio, Srinagar, Maqsood Ahmad, told Excelsior that the main objective of the Mela is to look for young talent in the far flung areas of Kashmir especially the areas that are inaccessible and remain cut off for half of the year due to snowfall.
Maqsood said that the youth Mela is being held at Degree College Kandi Karnah, in the frontier district of Kupwara on Sunday. He said that school and college students will take part in the day long mela.
The producer said that Youth Muhaira, Youth Musical programme and Debate will be held during the Mela. “Cash and trophies will be distributed among the best performers”, he added
Maqsood said that senior officers of the AIR Srinagar will be present during the talent hunt programme. He said that the talented youth will be involved in the programmes of the Radio Kashmir Srinagar.
