RAJOURI, May 3: The people from Sunderbani area today held protest demonstration against the Health staff of SDH Sunderbani for negligence, resulting into death of young pregnant woman.
The deceased has been identified as Priya (23), wife of Rinku Sharma, resident of Kamila village in Sunderbani. The woman was brought to Sunderbani hospital as delivery case by the family last night. She was kept there for several hours under treatment when her condition deteriorated she was referred by the hospital staff to SMGC Hospital, Jammu but she died on the way.
Today at around 11 am, the family members, relatives of the deceased and some villagers assembled at SDH Sunderbani and started protest dharna demanding suspension of staff for negligence and registration of an FIR against them.
Later, Addl SP Nowshera and ADC Sunderbani arrived there on the spot and assured the protesting people to frame SIT and constituted Medical Board for the autopsy of the body. They assured action if charges were found against them. The people then lifted their protest dharna at around 12.15 pm.
