UDHAMPUR, May 3: Fulfilling the long pending demand of residents of Jib-Nambal, Kupper area, MLA Udhampur Pawan Kumar Gupta today kick-started the macadamisation work of 3.50 kilometres badly damaged Jib-Nambal- Kupper road with an estimated cost of Rs. 1.10 crore.
On this occasion, locals said that a new chapter of development will begin with this macadamisation of road. They explained that vehicles could not ply on this road due to dilapidated condition of the same while it was too difficult to walk on this road.
“We met the MLA Udhampur regarding macadamisation of this road and he promised to blacktop the on this road soon, which he has done today,” they said.
On this occasion, locals also highlighted some other issues and presented a charter of demands before the legislator.
MLA Udhampur urged the concerned department to complete the work in stipulated time. He said all the developmental works in Udhampur constituency will be fast paced so that these can be completed in a time bound manner.
The MLA said that no compromise will be made with the quality of the work and special care will be taken and this road will be very helpful for the people living in this area.
The MLA was accompanied by AE, JE of the concerned department along with Rohit Sethi, Lal Chand, Rattan Lal, Sandeep Khajuria, Gopal Krishan, Paras Ram, Bhikhem Chand, Dwarka Nath, Ram Lal, Sanjay Kumar and Shashi Sharma.
