BMS demands revision of minimum wages

JAMMU, Dec 13 : A deputation of Bhartiya Mazdoor Sangh, J&K, led by the State president Karnail Chand, called on Commissioner Secretary Labour and Employment and submitted a memorandum apprising him about the problems being faced by the private sector workers as well as building construction workers.
The delegation demanded revision of minimum wages to Rs 6000 per month and strict implementation of Labour laws by the Government. BMS also demanded relaxation of rules for registration of building construction workers so that they may avail benefits under the Workers Act.
The Commissioner Secretary gave a patient hearing to the deputation and said that the minimum wages are being increased very shortly as also desired by the concerned Minister. He further assured necessary action into the problems of construction workers.
