Schools remain closed on lock-out call by JKReTF

JAMMU, May 4:  A number of Government run Primary and Middle schools across the State remained closed today on the lock-out call given by Jammu Kashmir Rehbar-e-Talim Teachers Forum in support of the demand for streamlining the salaries under SSA.
The protesting ReTs suspended work and held protest demonstrations for delinking SSA salaries from MHRD.
It is pertinent to mentioned here that SSA teachers are without salaries from last four months and the Forum has been demanding delinking of their salaries from MHRD so that SSA teachers may get salaries on time after every month.
In a statement, general secretary of JKReTF,   Jahanger Alam Khan said that they approached the Government many times but only assurances were given to them.
He warned that if the Government continues to delay the delinking process of SSA salaries, the Forum would continue the protest and also resort to Secretariat gherao on May 7 at Srinagar.
