India can compete world with trained, skilled manpower: Vibodh

RAJOURI, May 5: Terming Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s mission of skill development as only way out to curb unemployment, Member Legislative Council (MLC) and senior BJP leader Advocate Vibodh Gupta has said that India can compete China and rest of world only when it has trained and skilled manpower.
Interacting with students of ITI Rajouri, Gupta said that nation is still dependent upon foreign exports due to only reason that India is facing shortage of skilled manpower. He said that now it is the vision of Prime Minister to make India a self reliant by empowering youth and providing them skill training so that to compete with the world. “We can overpower China’s economy if we have skilled manpower”, he said pressing upon the youth to come forward and get skilled training.
Pressing upon ITIs to disseminate knowledge of skill India among youth, MLC said that emphasis of skill India is to skill the youth in such a way so that they get employment and also improve entrepreneurship, provides training, support and guidance for all occupations that were of traditional type like carpenters, cobblers, welders, blacksmiths, masons, nurses, tailors, weavers etc. He added that more emphasis are being given on new areas like real estate, construction, transportation, textile, gem industry, jewellery designing, banking, tourism and various other sectors, where skill development is inadequate or nil.
Meanwhile, Superintendent of ITI Ujwal Mahan also spoke on the advantages of skill development.
Among others who spoke on the occasion included Kamal Bakshi, Ashwani Kochar, Ranjeet Tara, Jahid Ahmed and Balbir Sharma.
