Language competition held

JAMMU, May 5: Shri Lakshmi Narayan Mandir Management Trust, Gandhi Nagar organized language competition.
The programme started with lighting of lamp by dignitaries and thereafter Saraswati Vandana was recited by students of Rich Harvest School Bari Brahmana.
The topic for competition was “Shrimad Bhagwat Geeta Kaa Adhunic Samay Mein Mahatav”, wherein 30 students of senior and junior groups from various institutions participated.
Prof RD Sharma Vice Chancellor Jammu University was the chief guest and Gulchain Singh Charak, former Minister and President of Shri Lakshmi Narayan Mandir Management Trust presided over the function.
The competition was divided into two groups–junior group comprising of students up to 8th class and senior group from 9th to 12th class.
After evaluation by the judges, cash prizes of Rs 2000, Rs 1500 and Rs 1000 in senior group were awarded to Superiya Uttam of Dogra Higher Secondary School Shastri Nagar, Diyaa of Rich Harvest School Bari Brahmana and Aditya Yadav of Government Higher Secondary School Gandhi Nagar for securing first, second and third positions respectively. In junior group, cash prizes of Rs 1500, Rs 1000 and Rs 700 were awarded to Divya Gupta of Heritage School, Akhileshwar Singh Charak of Rich Harvest School Bari Brahmna and Kanika Devi of Shiksha Niketan School for securing first, second and third positions respectively.
