JAMMU, May 6: Department of Youth Services and Sports organized Inter-School Tournament for under-14 and 17 boys and girls in the disciplines of Kho-Kho, Kabaddi, Wrestling and Volleyball of Zone Arnia concluded today at Government Higher Secondary School Arnia.
On the valedictory function, MLA Bishnah Kamal Arora was the chief guest, who while speaking stressed on the importance of sports in day to day life particularly girls and the development of national integrity. He announced that Indoor Badminton Court will be constructed in the Arnia zone.He appreciated the sports events of under-14 players particularly Volleyball.
The matches were officiated by Uttar Kumar Saini, Kamal Saini, Balwan Singh, Ashok Kumar, Rakesh Kumar and Anil Kumar.
In Kho-Kho under-14 girls, St Joseph Convent HS Arnia defeated GGMS Allah by 1 point, whereas in under-17 category, GHSS Allah defeated St Joseph Convent HS Arnia by 1 point.
In Kabaddi under-14 girls, St Joseph Convent HS Arnia defeated HS Saidgarh by 2 points, whereas in under-17 category, HSS Ania defeated HS Saidgarh by 15 points.
In Kho-Kho under-14 boys, GHS Arnia defeated St Joseph Convent HS Arnia by 3 points, whereas in under-17 category, GHS Arnia defeated St Joseph Convent HS Arnia by 1 point.
In Kabaddi under-14 boys, GHS Arnia defeated St Joseph Convent HS Arnia by 4 points, whereas in under-17 category, St Joseph Convent HS Arnia defeated GHSS Allah by 21 points.
In Volleyball under-14 boys, St Joseph Convent HS Arnia defeated High Light HSS Arnia by 3 sets, whereas in under-17 category, GHSS Allah defeated High Light HSS Arnia by 2 sets.
