NEW DELHI: An additional 100 One Stop Centres (OSCs) have been approved in the states of Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Mizoram, Nagaland, Odisha, Tamil Nadu and Uttar Pradesh.
The decision to augment OSCs was taken at the Programme Approval Board (PAB) meeting of the Ministry of Women and Child Development on Monday.
While Uttar Pradesh gets 52 OSCs, Madhya Pradesh is next with 25 centres and Haryana with 15. Mandi in Himachal Pradesh, Wardha in Maharashtra, Maharashtra, Champai in Mizoram, Tuensang in Nagaland, Koraput in Odisha and Coimbatore in Tamil Nadu.
So far, 182 such centres have been set up till date under the scheme for women affected by violence since April 2015 and more than 1.3 lakh women affected by violence have been assisted at these centres till date in 33 States/UTs. (AGENCIES)
